Hi, I'm Nickolas Ellis, a 17-year-old fuelled by a relentless passion for racing. I am chasing big dreams of becoming a world-class racer.
My family’s home on the Isle of Man, which happens to be the same residence where the legendary F1 driver Nigel Mansell (MBE) once lived, is where my love for racing and dreams of pursuing a career in it all began. It’s a place that has truly inspired and fueled my ambition.
Having already proven to myself that I could conquer any challenge on the open sea with a gold medal, I transferred that same determination, discipline, and diligence to the racetrack. My journey began in 2021, and since then, I've been chasing victory, pushing boundaries, and leaving my mark on the track.

I have learned that it’s not always how you start but how you finish. At age 14, I was a self-proclaimed late starter to the karting world, and whilst privateering in my rookie year, my skill and will caught the eye of karting veteran and race team owner Alan Crankshaw of Kartal Motorsports.

“At age 11, I won my fleet at the RS Tera World Championship in sailing, proudly bringing the medal home to the Isle of Man.”
During my debut competitive campaign, I achieved podiums at rounds and a podium finish in the Championship, culminating in the prestigious Driver of the Year award.
Although I was working extremely hard and consistently to achieve this, I think I truly earned the respect of the awarding judges when I continued racing despite breaking my ribs, and I persevered in doing my best.
In Year 7, I wrote an extended essay titled “A path to Formula 1,” unknowingly I wrote my personal manifesto at age 12 because, at the age of 15, I was thrilled to be chosen from drivers all over the country to be featured in the captivating Amazon Prime docuseries called “Driven Dreams” about the grassroots karting scene in Britain that offers a similar experience to Netflix’s Formula One series “Drive to Survive.”
Like many top drivers, such as McLaren F1 Lando Norris, this is the next logical step towards fulfilling my racing ambitions. In 2023, I relocated to England to pursue my racing career and embarked on an intensive karting and Ginetta racing training program.
I know I have a challenging and exhilarating season in front of me, so I am going in full steam ahead!
